Existing Segment/KISSmetrics Amazon S3 bucket

Setting up the correct access to your S3 bucket

If you already export KISSmetrics or Segment data to your own S3 bucket, we can access data directly from that bucket.

For this, you will need to provide us with:

  • the bucket name
  • the AWS Access Key ID and Secret Access Key of a valid IAM user.

IMPORTANT: by default, we’ll assume your bucket is in the us-east-1 region (also known as US Standard). If it is not, shoot us a note at support@madkudu.com.

The minimum set of permissions needed for this user is:

{
    "Version": "2012-10-17",
    "Statement": [
        {
            "Effect": "Allow",
            "Action": [
                "s3:ListBucket",
                "s3:GetBucketLocation",
            ],
            "Resource": "arn:aws:s3:::[bucket_name]"
        },
        {
            "Effect": "Allow",
            "Action": [
                "s3:GetObject",
            ],
            "Resource": "arn:aws:s3:::[bucket_name]/*"
        },
    ]
}

(where [bucket_name] is replaced by the name of your bucket).

NOTE: If all of this sounds like gibberish, please forward it directly to your favorite developer :)
